Important Submission Guidelines
Send Only Final Approved Files
Before submitting, ensure the design is finalized and approved within your team. Sending multiple versions increases the chance of errors and delays.
Provide Native Files When Possible
Whenever possible, supply the original files in the format they were created. For example, if your artwork was made in Adobe Illustrator, send the original .ai file rather than a converted format like .jpg or .pdf. Native files give us the best chance to produce your design as intended.
Design Tips
Artwork Size
Create your artwork at the final print size. For example, if your sign is 18” x 24”, set your artwork dimensions to 18” x 24” at 300 dpi. For vector-based designs, ensure the file maintains the correct aspect ratio.
Color Mode
Submit your files in CMYK color mode for accurate printing. Include specific CMYK or PMS color values in your artwork or documentation to ensure the best color matching.
Bleeds and Borders
- All signs include a ½" to ¾" white border.
- For full-bleed designs, include a 0.25-inch bleed on all sides. Additional charges may apply for full-bleed printing.
Safe Zones
Leave at least ¾" to 1" of space between critical design elements (e.g., text, logos) and the edges of the sign. For banners with stitching or grommets, allow 1" to 1½" margins.
Photo Guidelines
Resolution
- Use images with at least 300 dpi resolution for clear, vibrant prints.
- Avoid using low-resolution images, as they may appear blurry or pixelated when enlarged.
Acceptable Photo Formats
- JPEG (.jpg)
- Bitmap (.bmp)
- TIFF (.tif)
- Photoshop (.psd)
Photo Do’s and Don’ts
Do: Send high-quality digital images or photos in their original format.
Do: Supply the cropped version if you’ve edited the photo.
Don’t: Submit images with filters, scanned business cards, or photos printed on desktop printers.
Example: High-Resolution vs. Low-Resolution Images
High-Resolution Image | Low-Resolution Image |
---|
Prints crisp, clear, and vibrant | Appears blurry or pixelated |
Suitable for enlargement without quality loss | Degrades significantly when enlarged |
